This is the first Bird Seed Saturday… but on a Monday. Hopefully I’ll actually hit the target and manage to post on Saturday next time!
As an apology for being late, I’m sharing the best brownie recipe ever. My family calls them “Wedding Brownies” due to the fact that they were served at every wedding on my mom’s side of the family (she has 5 siblings. That’s a lot of brownies.).
Wedding Brownies
Big Batch
Ingredients:
4 sticks of butter
8 squares of bakers’ chocolate
8 beaten eggs
4 cups of sugar
2 cups of flour
4 tsp of vanilla extract
Directions:
Melt the butter and baker’s chocolate together. Make sure to stir frequently, otherwise the
mixture will burn and sizzle. When the mix is melted, take it off the burner, but keep it moving.
Mix the remaining ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Slowly add the chocolate/butter mix.
Pour the batter into a cookie sheet (greased) and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until
inserted toothpick comes out clean.
Mint Frosting:
Ingredients:
2 cups softened butter
3 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon of peppermint extract (I do it to taste)
8 cups powdered sugar
8 Tsp milk
green food coloring
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, beat all the ingredients in a mixing bowl. Frost brownies when completely cool.
P.S. This makes a ton of brownies, so if you’re going for something… daintier, divide it into halves or quarters.
P.P.S. Please give credit where credit is due. If you love them, fabulous, but please don’t plaster it all over without mentioning where you got it. Thanks!

OMG! MINT! Agh I <3 <3 <3 mint. I think I might actually attempt these brownies, although my history in the kitchen is not good.
And this feature is adorable! Madeleine, you're too clever.

Thanks! My tip? Never, ever multitask. If you're still getting used to the feel of… the kitchen, remain focused on one step at a time. It's super easy to burn the chocolate/butter mixture (trust me, I've had practice)!

Out of curiosity, why are the wedding brownies green and minty flavored? Is your family of leprechaun descent? 😉

They're green to give people some sort of warning that they're minty, and they're minty because mint+chocolate=♥ ;D (And we’re all too tall to be leprechauns.)

I kind of want to use an expletive because just reading this makes me drool a tiny bit. ARGHHHHHHHH BROWNIESSSS!!!!!!! I fail at baking but I am determined to try this one day! (though i might start with something smaller b/c my track record is like zero-for-ten on icing/frosting so yeah… but it's MINT!) Also, this is kind of silly but how much is 1 stick of butter? 🙂
thanks for the post 🙂

You can divide the recipe in halves or quarters, and it'll be perfect for you!
1 stick of butter = 1/2 cups
